Hey, I'm Lydia!

I like playing in the sun and dirt, growing things and taking care of plant babies. When I’m not doing that, I’m watching E! or the  RHWOanywhere and thinking about how to make french fries burn fat (I've never met a french fry I didn’t love). I earned my level 1 crunchy hippie mom badge birthing my little man Mitt unmedicated (ya know, how everyone around the world does...) But I guess the internet liked it cuz our little birth story went viral- go figure.  I'm on a mission to keep myself and my family well, naturally and love and honor our Earth. I'm married to Ben and we are a blending family in progress. I'm loving on my growing tribe of sisterhood from all around the world, join us and stay connected.

What is the Raindrop technique?

Dude, A few years ago I was in Bali with my husband for his work (poor me, I know) I actually had the tremendous privelidge of flying all over the world with him for this paticular gig. I’ll post a video of the epic morning where we went down to the black sand beaches for a yoga session at sunrise- effing magical. I talk more about our travels in my newsletter, so make sure to join it by clicking here - but this post is SUPPOSED to be about the Raindrop massage technique.

Francis Fuller herself hosted us at the Frances Fuller farm and retreat center on the hillside of Bali- listen, im Im gonna be super honest. The paticulars about the location escape me because I was pregnant at the time. I was SOOO sick and so fatigued that I didnt even know which direction we were going. I literally would just huff peppermint and close my eyes and pray that I didnt vomit my scantily choked down breakfast all over the corporate rental fans. I was the really shitty pregnant stage- 8-10 weeks, fatigued, morning sicker and sicker by the minute. I was miserable… So i didnt care where the hell we were going, I just knew I needed to try to enjoy the trip, hold my food down, and try to suck it up. lol. Pregancy is the worst, isnt it?

We were the honored guest of Fullers so she literally spoiled me with a raindrop technique in the most gorgeos property, overlooking beautiful Bali. It was inSANE!

That was really the first time I had heard about the Raindrop technique- which is a really great therapy for anyone suffering from stress, depression, anxiety and  low immune system function. If you have chronic back pain or if you suffer from autoimmune disorders or severe illnesses then you may also benefit from it.

The Raindrop Technique has its roots in very old Lakota traditions. In the 1980s, a Lakota medicine man named Wallace Black Elk shared the original technique with Young Living founder, Gary Young. Young developed this technique into the proprietary Raindrop Technique that we use today! This technique has been passed down through so many generations, and the historical importance is impossible to deny. It’s truly amazing what we can discover by sharing the natural healing practices of different cultures.

The Raindrop Technique has sooo many benefits that cover both the mind and body. Below are some the best ones:

  • Alignment of the skeleton and mind

  • Antimicrobial

  • Decongesting

  • Detoxifying

  • Immune boosting

  • Improves metabolism and circulation

  • Pain reduction

  • Physical and emotional balance

  • Rejuvenating

  • Stimulates nerves

  • Stress relief

So how does the Raindrop Technique actually work? It’s a carefully crafted essential oil massage that uses the benefits of aromatherapy, reflexology, and the massage styles of feather stroking and thumb rolling. It is a massage that primarily focuses on the bottoms of the feet, and the spine. A series of undiluted essential oils are used to massage these areas in specific ways. These oils are dropped onto the skin like rain—giving the name “Raindrop Technique!” When you do the Raindrop Technique, there is a specific order to it that really opens the door to the spiritual and emotional benefits. The Raindrop Technique is completely painless, and doesn’t require any sort of chiropractic manipulation, or super deep tissue massage. It’s a simple ritual that provides all the above benefits and more, without being at all invasive. There are a total of ten Young Living oils needed to perform the Raindrop Technique. Here’s a complete list of them for you to have:

  1. V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex

  2. Valor II

  3. Oregano

  4. Thyme

  5. Basil

  6. Cypress

  7. Wintergreen

  8. Marjoram

  9. Aroma Siez

  10. Peppermint

You can also incorporate White Angelica oil to help create an environment that feels safe and calming.

Setting the mood for the Raindrop Technique massage is very important. The results of  this massage can potentially be very emotional, as well as physically healing. So be sure that you and the recipient are both feeling positive and open to the experience. Relaxation, peacefulness, and comfort are important to have for a Raindrop session.
