DIY Essential Oil Mask Spray
Why Essential Oil?
Essential oils are well-known for their aromatherapy properties, being good for the skin, and some are even antibacterial! When we smell certain scents, they can have an impact on our brains, emotions, and even our physical feelings. Essential oils such as lavender, for example, have been found to significantly and measurably reduce stress and anxiety! So by using an easy DIY essential oil mask spray, you can help keep the stress of wearing one under control. You can also find it difficult to breathe when you are always wearing a mask. Essential oils like eucalyptus are known for their ability to help open airways when inhaled… This can work very well for helping ease breathing for those that struggle with masks. (However, if you have severe asthma, it’s best to discuss with your doctor whether a mask is safe at all for you. <3)Another bonus of using an easy DIY essential oil mask spray is that it can help fight breakouts that masks cause. All the moisture and bacteria from our breath being trapped in a mask created the perfect atmosphere for acne. On top of this, tight-fitting masks can often leave deep, red lines on our faces. This can pave the way for early aging, and it can be really painful and uncomfortable. A DIY spray with the right essential oils can work wonders to soothe both of these issues!
Many oils are naturally antibacterial, so this is another thing that makes using an easy DIY essential oil mask spray so convenient! Tea Tree oil is probably one that you’ve heard of, and it is one of the most popular antibacterial essential oils. Add this to the base recipe below, and you have a really awesome quick sanitizing spray for your mask!
What Kind Of Mask Can Be Sprayed?
You can use this easy DIY essential oil mask spray on any kind of mask! I personally have a 100% cotton reusable mask with both an outer AND inner (replaceable) filter. However, you can use your mask spray-on disposable, fabric, M95, handmade--any kind of mask or face covering.I definitely recommend a handmade, organic, reusable mask if you can get a hold of one, though. Many mass-produced masks are made with synthetic or chemically treated and/or bleached materials. These are toxic, and not good for your body to be consistently breathing in at all!Now that we know why and how to use our easy DIY essential oil mask spray, it’s time for the recipes!
