Vertical Gardening for apartments and smaller spaces
I’ve got a pretty good sized yard and this is the year I turn it into a food production machine.
However, I didnt always have the space to grow in this way, but because of my passion to grow plants of any kind, and specifically edible ones, I always found a way to grow by going vertical.
First I used milk cartons, then buckets, then grow bags, and finally, I landed on the garden tower and I have never looked back.
I bought mine during the original kickstarter-This is a wonderful product for beginner food gardeners, or those working with limited space! This garden tower only takes up a four by four foot square of space, and is capable of housing and growing up to fifty plants at a time! The most unique and user friendly feature is the fact that it utilizes vertical space. Vertical gardening takes up less space, and with the design of his product, makes it a breeze as well!

Save Space Vertical gardening is the most efficient way to produce as much as possible in as small of a space as possible. Rather than being spread over a large, flat field; vertical grading allows you to be able to garden virtually anywhere!
Indoor and Outdoor Friendly Vertical gardens are incredibly versatile, and can be set up inside or outside your home. You can grow many types of plants and produce in this style, for all of your needs. A vertical garden can be anything from a climbing plant guided up your fence or siding, to a home garden tower like I told you about above! The sky is literally the limit here, so have fun and be creative.
Improves Air Quality Plants actually have a form of breathing that is super beneficial for us. While we inhale oxygen, and exhale carbon dioxide; plants “inhale” carbon dioxide, and “exhale” oxygen! This makes our relationship with plants very mutually beneficial. As we care for them and help them grow, they help us be able to breathe purer air. There are also some plants that help filter out toxins from the air—see my post about purifying your air at home HERE!
Easier On The Body People with chronic pain in their knees and back can find it difficult to bend and kneel in an ordinary garden. With a vertical garden, there is no need to kneel and bend at all! This can be a great alternative for people that love gardening, but feel limited by pain or other conditions.
Easier To Control Indoor vertical gardens in particular are much easier to keep in a controlled environment. You don’t have to worry as much about weeds or pests, and you can even practice organic growing more easily this way. If you do have an outdoor vertical garden, you can use essential oils rather than chemicals to help keep weeds, pests, and fungus away.
Vertical gardening provides any level of gardener with lots of flexibility without taking away from the feelings of accomplishment. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to give it a try!
