Golden Milk Latte
Golden milk tea is an amazing little drink that is packed with some of the most powerful and healthy spices.
It is a very old Indian recipe that is recently becoming popular in the West… Along with other Ayurvedic practices. Golden milk tea has been used in some form or another for centuries, and we can still see all the nearly unbelievable results to this day.
The benefits of golden milk tea are mostly from the turmeric it’s made with. However, when you add in cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, honey, and coconut oil; you’ve got a truly magical blend of hundreds of benefits.
Just a few of these benefits are:
A lowered risk of heart disease
Tons of antioxidants
Antimicrobial/antibacterial
Weight loss
Relief from pain and inflammation
Restful sleep
Better moods
Protection from cavities
More good cholesterol, and less bad
Combats dementia and Alzheimer’s
A healthier liver
Prebiotic benefits (out with bad bacteria, and in with the good)
Stress relief
Blood purification
Improved healing (inside and out)
Clear skin
More balanced blood sugar
Being less likely to develop cancer
…and SO MUCH MORE!
This drink is so wonderful for your health, and it actually tastes really good too! Are you ready to make some of your own? Below is a great recipe you can use to make your very own golden milk tea:
Start with 2 cups of organic, pure coconut milk in your blender as a base. (You can also use another plant based milk, or even organic bone broth if you prefer.)
Add 1tsp to 1Tblsp of coconut oil to help with absorption of all the nutrients.
Add 1 1/2tsp of turmeric
Add 1tsp each of cinnamon and nutmeg
Add a 1in piece of fresh ginger that you have peeled and sliced. (You can also substitute 1/2tsp of powdered ginger if you don’t have fresh on hand.)
Add 1/4tsp of cardamom
Add in some real honey or organic maple syrup to your taste preference
Optional additions: a sprinkle of black pepper and/or a pinch of cayenne also helps with absorption and adds a little kick
Then, blend well until smooth.
Now, just heat (not to boiling) and drink!
You can make this in bigger batches and store in the refrigerator for up to a week, and you can also enjoy golden milk tea cold if you prefer.
