Babies first year was such a blur! The sleep deprevation, the hormones. Saying that its “ALOT” doesnt even begin to cover it. It can be so difficult, and yet, it is simple so magical.
I feel 100 percent crazy saying I miss it, but I do.
I put together a pretty minimalist list of my RIDE OR DIE baby products for babies first year (ps I nearly sobbed as I reminisced about these special months with a tiny cuddle bug- but thats beside the point. #ovariestalkin).

Glass Baby Bottles - I mostly breast fed for 10 months, but I have loved these glass Avent bottles for feedings. I love them because they are glass instead of plastic and really durable. Plastic is a real problem in our bodies- for me its well worth the risk of breaking to decrease the amount of plastic babies ingest. No matter how long you use it for, there is no degrading or leaching of chemicals into the milk/formula. You cant say that about plastics. Its not just about avoiding BPA, but also the chemicals that are leaching into our bodies, so avoiding plastics goes a long way to avoid some of those toxins.
My baby bjorn high chair is litereally my favorite thing. Its lite, compact, easy to move easy to store, so easy to clean and so easy to get baby in and out of. We’ve taken it on road trips in our camper van because its SO compact.
Baby carriers! I am a baby wearing mama and I love ALL the carriers. I own 6 of them but I will just keep my “must have” recommendations down to two. I think every mama needs a soft fabric carrier and I LOVE the boba and solly baby carriers. My little guy grew so quickly that we really only used it for the first 4 months. But the use was daily. For the days when he just needed skin to skin or close contact because he was fussy- I would just wear him. All day long. Its comfortable and perfect for those magical early days post partum.
Carrier number 2 is my Ergo Baby 360. Great for travel and at home, its easy to put on, and I LOVE being able to backpack my baby around on my back as well as on my front or side. Its alot of work carrying a baby so the versitililty of the ways helps keep mama comfortable.
Once Emmitt started teething, I bought him a Baltic Amber necklace for NATURAL ORGANIC PAIN RELIEF. The Succinic Acid boosts your immune system and Baltic amber beads relieves pain. Amber Necklace works best as anti-inflammatory aide. He wears it around the clock. We just dont take it off at this point.
Lavender, Peace and Calming and Gentle baby essential oils have been a critical part of our baby being such a great sleeper. I drop lavender in his bath and roll one or more of lavender, peace and calming (a blend) and Gentle baby behind his ears and on his feet and chest - and sprintz some on his lovey. The ritual is relaxing and helps him nod right off. I also diffuse one or all of these in his bedroom diffuser.

Sound machine- I love my Lectrofan sound machine so much! Babies love the swishing of background noise, its reminds them of being in mamas noisy womb. This one is the best because Its tiny and easy to travel (we do not leave home without it for trips) - I love it so much I bought myself one for my bedroom to drown out my husbands snoring. Its compact, has 10 background sounds and gets as loud as you need it.
Bouncer- I love a good bouncer for those months prior to sitting up, when you want some eye contact or just some time to let baby look around. My favorite is my baby bjorn bouncer. Its sleek and really durable. I loved taking it everywhere, picnics, camping, and just hanging out in my house. I found it paticularly useful when I was cooking and I could have baby bouncing and looking around and within arms reach.
Stroller- This is a big ticket item. And it can be considered a splurge, but I think a stroller you LOVE is well worth the money. Strolling in style is a major part of year one. Whether its hoping on an airplane to Spain (our babies first trip!) or just heading to the park. A good stroller gets you out of of the house, and baby gets to see the world. I love my UPPA BABY VISTA so much I cannot even begin to say. Its durable and well built and easy to take in and out of the car. The way it swivels makes for a smooth ride. The functionality of this stroller is just hard to beat. For the first 8 months, I would just use the carseat as the stroller seat, it just transfers in. But as the baby got bigger I traded out the seats for the upright one. Ive taken it everywhere and its perfect.
Bath tub- I really love this bathtub because it grows with baby through all stages. Its lite weight and relatively compact. I love the marching bath rinsers as well because they can help you avoid pouring too much water over babies face.
